AI Strategy in Action: Practical Lessons for Creating Business Impact

AI is transforming how businesses compete, operate, and grow. In this interactive two-hour workshop, participants will explore what AI is, how it creates measurable business value, and what separates successful initiatives from those that stall. Through real-world examples and guided discussion, the session draws on practical lessons from leading organizations that have turned AI strategy into results. Attendees will learn how to evaluate where AI can make a difference, identify high-value opportunities, and build confidence in applying AI thinking to their own work.

The session is led by Todd S. James, Founder and CEO of Aurora Insights and former Chief Data & Technology Officer at 84.51° and Head of AI at Kroger, who has helped Fortune 500 companies translate AI strategy into practical business impact.

Turning Your AI Strategy into Real Momentum

Most AI programs don’t fail because of bad models. They fail because no one agrees on what success should look like. This session focuses on how organizations move from planning to progress... building trust, fluency, and measurable traction through the Get Started, Get Unstuck, Get Ahead framework.

This session will be led by Nate Sowder, AVP of Innovation at Fifth Third Bank, Executive in Residence at Cintrifuse in Cincinnati & the Entrepreneurs Center in Dayton, and author of unquoted, a weekly series highlighting historical, overlooked thinkers and their ideas that are shaping the future of AI, design, and decision-making.
